About the Founder
April is a returning Alabama native and holds certification by IPPA as a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, Postpartum Health Specialist, and Instructor as well as certificates in Bloodborne Pathogens & Infection Control for Placenta Encapsulators through Biologix and a Basic Foodhandlers Certificate for the State of Alabama . She has completed training as a Birth Doula through DONA International, and education in Perinatal Mood Disorders - Current Treatment & Resources, through WakeMed. April has also studied Herbalism for several years, most recently under the renowned Darryl Patton, Master Herbalist, Naturopathic Doctor, and founder of Deep South Center for Herbal Studies.
April also holds a B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and has worked in science, medicine and research for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and numerous Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies, globally.
Drawing from her background as a scientist, working in highly controlled laboratory and drug manufacturing environments with stem cell technology, infectious diseases, and pharmaceuticals, April takes great care to ensure adherence to safe and sanitary practices, and hopes to pass this attention to detail and safety along to those she mentors.
